Doing commissions without the money is, unsurprisingly, very irritating. I've been using the excuse that I've been in Birmingham/Sweden/squatting in Acton to get out of doing these portraits for the last few weeks, but I should probably get on with them. I am trying to be a nice friend...

Birmingham - I was invited to help out with a maths course for GCSE-age schoolkids, and also learn a few things myself (Ramsey theory lectures for five days - yay?). Apart from the brainfreeze of the lectures, it was quite fun. Except for the godawful 'talent' concert where there was that Yiruma thingie, River Flows In You, played by someone who obviously thought the sustaining pedal was a footrest just to take one example.

Sweden - family holiday in Stockholm. It's a lovely place (and the Tunnelbana is about 92381 times more awesome than the London Tube), but there isn't really that much to do...

London - a Friends marathon. There was nothing else to do. Apart from spinning a web of deceit about how I was staying in that empty friend's sister's flat in the first place (it was a favour for the friend, really). I'd forgotten how awesome Friends was...

What else? Uh... Mardek is an awesome game and chapter 3's been released at last - I've been waiting for this for three years. Um. Watched Shrek 4 with a few friends in Westfields, that giant shopping centre thing in London. I think I prefer Bluewater. Westfields is just sprawling and huge and confusing. But Shrek was pretty good; I'm not a huge fan of the whole "it was all a dream" thing, but there were some genuinely hilarious and heartwarming things in there. (Me? Heartwarming? Woah. I have discovered that I get more easily attached to CGI characters, though.)

I came home and discovered that my sister has finally spent her huge stack of book tokens, so I finished Neverwhere (Neil Gaiman) this afternoon and hopefully will start The Lost Symbol (Dan Brown) sometime soon. :D Anyway, the main thought after Neverwhere was that Neil Gaiman is an amazing writer and it's London and I want Anaesthesia back.

Come on, England. :( At the present moment, it's 1-0 to Germany.
Scratch that, it's now 2-0. Bah.
Oh, the neighbours just shouted "YAY!!!" so I'm assuming that England just scored. :D

This weekend I've been getting heavily into webcomics. I didn't even know what they were until Thursday, and since then I've clicked my way through the whole of Gunnerkrigg Court and The Order of the Stick (as far as they've been drawn, I mean). O_O Too... much... computer... eyes... hurt.

Right now I'm:
- revising medical physics
- drawing a dinosaur
- sketching a tarot card
- reading the OotS tvtropes page
- listening to R&J London cast (this is a gesture of England support)
- seriously contemplating the possibility of a lesbian Mahariel/Tabris pairing in the epic Dragon Age fic

Maths exams are over. I honestly felt like bursting into tears and running out the room halfway through the first one, but I resisted the temptation. Now just to wait until the end of August to see if I actually got anywhere near the grades needed for uni.

Of course, with the huge stresses of exam season, the obvious thing to do is to waste time and play computer games! :DDD So I finished off my half-started game of Fable (the most annoying part - apart from the non-understandable Yorkshire accents - was getting the hairdresser to marry me. I gave up and killed her out of annoyance. yeah.). And started yet another game of Dragon Age. -.- I got much too bored and frustrated watching two of my friends play that game, so this is somehow my revenge. Also, I need a Crazy Elf Lady for the Epic Fic that I'm struggling on with, because the character that I was using isn't actually that crazy in-game and doesn't belong to me anyway. Bye, Mohita. *deletes all name mentions*

Martini Mahariel is a little bit insane. If there's an option along the lines of "1. Kill him." then she's taken it. (Except for elves, because she is a crazy racist elf lady. Isn't she lovely?) Anyhow, she hates the world and deeply enjoys murder. It makes for a sadistically fun game, I suppose, if you ignore the horrible feelings of your whole party hating your guts. Even Morrigan started to hate her after she killed Jowan for funsies. Unfortunately I have to make OOC exceptions for party members. Martini would have liked to massacre all the mages, but I'm not good enough to make it through Hard mode without Wynne.

Off to start music revision...

I just found out as I walked past the billboards next to the O2 that Les Miserables is to have a 25th Anniversary Concert.

"On Sunday October 3, the O2 in London will host a company of more than 300 actors and musicians, including Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Nick Jonas (from the Jonas Brothers) as Marius, Norm Lewis as Javert, Little Britain star Matt Lucas as Thenardier, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thenardier, Camilla Kerslake as Cosette and the casts of the original production at the Queen’s Theatre, the new 25th anniversary production at the Barbican and members of the original 1985 London cast."

Nick Jonas? What?!
... ignoring that, the only tickets left are £100+. D: I guess I probably won't be able to go, but another concert DVD would be nice.

xx

Doctor Who is on tomorrow and that would be great, except that I hate penultimate episodes because there is always, always a terrible cliffhanger. And then I'll be sitting in my maths/music exams thinking "ZOMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" instead of hyperbolic functions or structural tonality, which will not be good. I managed to avoid this the last time by not having a tv, and the time before by not being a Doctor Who fan. I still spent ten minutes of Internet loading time cursing cliffhangers, though.

Also, Hugh Laurie is amazing - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79sx2Am0DDs

And another also, someone asked me to contribute a couple of my Tarot cards to be published in a calendar! Unfortunately I'm not getting paid (except for getting a calendar) because it's just a small thing, but still - published! Like, people will see it! On paper!

In these last two weeks, I convinced one of my friends to start Dragon Age in the hopes that she'll do better on this than the other games she's started but never got past the tutorial. Thanks to the ungodly high ratio of dialogue to kick-your-ass-fighting in Dragon Age, she hasn't completely given up yet. She's gotten past Ostagar and everything. Still, I always get way too much of that annoyance when you watch someone else play a game badly and you just want to shout, "YOU SUCK. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING."

The best bit about her game is that her guy's name.
In the creation stage-
Me: Okay, now you have to choose a first name for him.
Friend: *looks at default Tabris name* Darrian? Ew. I think not.
Me: Right :D. Ithinknot it is, then. *types and saves before she can protest*
So his name is Ithinknot Tabris and he cutely looks like a very young teenage boy. *pats* His dog is very logically named Ithinkso.

And then we watched all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies just so I could squeal at Anders's voice actor appearing on-screen for all of five seconds. I... am revising for exams. Really. In fact, I'm so stressed that I've got three ulcers in my mouth. Ow ow ow.

In exam-related news, I don't have to do biology ever again. The government are really trying to bang the whole "don't hurt the environment!" into us, aren't they? I'm pretty sure we did the exact same useless ecology and sustainable development module last year, with the exact same useless and completely non-biological questions in the exam. I get it. Cutting down the rainforest is BAD. Shut up and ask me about tropomyosin binding sites instead. I spent /days/ revising muscle action with not a single passing mention of it in the exam. >.<

I went to see Wicked - at last - last Friday! Unfortunately, both the people that I was really looking forward to see (Rachel Tucker and Lee Mead) were replaced by stand-bys/understudies. Afterwards, I felt an odd combination of glee at finally seeing the show and utter crushing disappointment at having missed both my fangirl stalker targets. Still, the stand-by Elphaba, Nikki Davis-Wood, was very good even if she did sound exactly the same as Idina Menzel down to every vocal inflection and vowel pronuciation and etc (I'm guessing she listened to the OBC a little too many times). I loved the Glinda (Louise Dearman? I can't remember) and I especially love they resisted the temptation to put on an American accent in the middle of a London show. The whole posh English snob characterisation works very well, I think.

elisabeth - mate and jesper
What is up with me? I'm listening to the new Tanz der Vampire CD, and I actually like Marjan Shaki (even if her voice is still painfully weak now and again). I actually really like her. I actually don't want to stab her voice with a screwdriver. This is so... strange.

Though I have to say that Thomas Borchert sounds like he might fall asleep any minute, and I still can't find anything in Lukas Perman that I don't want to strangle. But still - Marjan Shaki is good. My mind is boggled. My flabber is completed gasted.

This is a public Sims post (and I'm saying this so you can't shout "HEY YOU'RE DOUBLE POSTING TONIGHT" because I actually managed to take a cute newhaircut!picture of me which will be f-locked). Yeah.

way too many Butz, a Dragon Age themed foursome, and Elphaba's great-granddaughter is gorgeous. )

Sims 3: Katina and Boppin' Jumba (the evil immortal lesbians, yes) had another miracle child by the use of cheats. She was a green ghost baby called Hakuna Matata and so was automatically awesome. Then she disappeared probably because some silly anti-cheating-lesbian-ghost-baby bug, and now I am sulking and refusing to play Sims.

Also some other random crap with secret foursomes (they're all in relationships with each other, but no-one knows they're being cheated on) and their children, where the boy toddler looks like a girl and the girl looks like a boy. More on that this weekend when I can get some screenshots. (In the end I did make a fifth sibling called Maya Sis Biggadanur Butz, by the way.)

Black & White: Also sulking because my people are idiots and I lost the game. Without saving.

Dragon Age: I got bored and killed a few bosses on Nightmare mode. Therefore I am awesome. ^^

Life: is generally irritating, so I won't spill over the irritation onto lj. Yesterday I realised at 8pm that I had not eaten anything for the whole day. :S

A friend transcribed a piano-accompanied version Utveszto Minden Ut for me and it is awesome. XDD Putting in a lyrics line on Sibelius, however, is decidedly not awesome. After an hour of screaming at the computer, I finally finished it (and gave up on trying to put in Japanese and German verses) and now it is awesomely ready to play. XDDD

I got a copy of a rather old game called Black & White. Apparently I'm a god trying to take care of a few villages. I have a pet man-eating tiger to help me with this. The villagers are so utterly idiotic that I just can't bring myself to help them. And I think I role-play a bit too much in these games because I'm purposely killed all my chosen people in the "don't you DARE talk to your god like that! burn, idiots, burn! besides, if you're so stupid that you can't take care of yourselves without me giving you a ton of food miracles, you don't deserve to live." line of thought. I got Game Over in a matter of minutes. I didn't bother restarting.

Another friend is obsessing over Norbert Leo Butz after watching a Wicked bootleg with him. (sidenote: we got into The Last 5 Years because of this, and then I downloaded the German cast album and hearing German in a Russian accent is somehow amusing.) Obviously, the thing to do when obsessing over a Butz is to create Butz Sims.

Wildew Annie Butz (lol it's 'will do any butts' giggle) is a lobster-red girl with a green/blue/purple mohawk. Her brother, Anee Vildoo Butz, is a pale blue zombie (with a nice splosh of eyeshadow and bright red lipstick) video-gaming loser. Wildew met her soulmate, Enny Butz Wildoo, who is a slightly overweight face-paint-wearing man with fluorescent blond hair. These three all lived happily together in the Butthouse. It's a house in the shape of a butt. Awesome. The carpet inside spells out "Butz".

Wildew Annie Butz and Enny Butz Butz (nee Wildoo) had two children - Lady, Ilkyeur Butz and Dude, Wairsmi Butz. (The side effect of us calling each other over large people-filled rooms with the words, "Lady, I like your butt!", hearing the reply, "Dude, where's my butt?" and then giggling like idiots was not intended. Well, not /fully/ intended.) Anyway, the Lady was a clone of her mother and the Dude was a clone of his father.

Lady, Ilykeur Butz met Chance Thropp (Liirina's son) who was at that time a good looking adult. He had just come out of a terrible relationship with one of the Bob la Fattes, but she wasn't to know that. After a massive amount of flirting
(me: OMG WHY DOES HE KEEP REJECTING HER HE'S AN IDIOT.
friend: I think he's gay.
me: HE JUST NEEDS MORE ENCOURAGEMENT.)
they finally slept together. I zoomed back onto the couple after telling Wildew Annie and Anee Wildoo to cook or whatever, and found that Chance had magically turned into an old man overnight. Lady, Ilykeur Butz was so disgusted that she never spoke to Chance again. She soon gave birth to two daughters, Ilykbigg and Alotta Butz. She now lives with them as a single mum somewhere else in town.

Meanwhile, back at the Butthouse, Anee Vildoo Butz impregnated a random girl in town. I can't remember what happened to them.

Friday was my last day in (high) school. Sort of. Ignoring the fact that I live at school and am going to be permanently in the school until July 11th, it was my last day. So... of course, we spent the afternoon playing computer games in the library and channeling our inner 12 year old boys by creating the most god-awful "your mum" and "that's what she said" and "know what else is ---?" jokes imaginable after everything that anyone said. Ah well. Most of the girls in our House went out for a celebratory meal plus clubbing on Saturday night.
